10 Effective Dog Training Tips.

Pet owners love their pets otherwise we wouldn't rear them. But even though we love them, we need to raise them up to be respectful, obedient, and healthy. We want to make them feel welcomed in our homes. In order to achieve that, it is important that they get adequate pet training. All pets and dogs need to be trained to be obedient and it isn't hard to do so.

Below are some dog training tips that will not just help you train your dog, but do so in a healthy manner . Using the following dog training tips will help you achieve an obedient, well-trained dog that is a part of your family for a long time to come.

  1. One of the most crucial dog training tips is to never use physical punishment and never reprimand your dog for not performing correctly.
  2. Do not train your dog if you are in a bad mood or irritated at someone. Otherwise, you will be likely to take out your anger on your dog. Also, stop the training once you feel that you are losing your temper.
  3. Keep the training session short and interesting. Give it plenty of variety to keep you and your dog from getting bored.
  4. If your dog is bursting with energy and too excited, give him some exercise before you start with the training.
  5. Make sure your dog is hungry when you begin the training and use tasty treats to help reinforce the command.
  6. Once your dog becomes proficient with the training, you can reduce the amount of treats to occasional use.
  7. Praise your dog every time he performed a task correctly and learn to ignore those which are unsuccessful.
  8. If you are having trouble with the training, stop and move on to something else and then come back to the trouble spot later.
  9. Make sure that your dog understands what you want him to do before assuming that he is choosing not to obey you.
  10. Always end your training session by playing with your dog for a few minutes or end it with a task which your dog does well. Praise him and then reward him with a treat. This way, he will more likely remember that training sessions are fun.

And finally an important dog training tip you need to remember is to read your dog's body language carefully and check to see if he is showing signs of stress. Signs that your pet s under stress are when he is looking away and trying to get away from you, partially closing his eyes, droopy tail, and lips pressed tightly together. If you notice these signs, stop for a moment and take a break from your pet training to give your dog some time to recover.
